Atletico New Mexico FC is a soccer club that draws inspiration from the rich legacy of Atletico de Madrid. Established with a passion for the beautiful game, we have been actively promoting soccer since our inception. We are dedicated to fostering talent and providing a platform for players to showcase their skills and love for the sport.

Our mission is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing soccer and life-enriching opportunities to young players of all ages and playing abilities, to create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer. Atletico New Mexico as a local soccer club is committed to elevating the soccer profile in New Mexico by bringing a competitive and developmental pathway for young athletes. The team will enhance community engagement, attract local support, and contribute positively to the region's cultural and economic landscape.
Our Style
Based on the philosophy of the Spanish giants Atletico de Madrid,
established by Paco Lobato.
Our Characteristics include:
1. Bold and alive teams that are always in predisposition to
have criteria and responsibility with the ball. Technical players, brave and composed on the ball.
2. Aggressive and intense players in the different phases of the Game.
3. Teams of solidarity and sacrifice with good organization. Team First mentality.
4. Players capable of working with high-intensity as a team. Never giving up!
5. Our Club curriculum is provided by Paco Lobato, who was with Atletico Madrid as the Sporting Director of their Academy.
Atletico NM continues to develop players to move on and play in college and beyond every year. Our quality coaches and methodology of training our players with the Spanish methodology, competing in various Regional and National competitions as well as College Showcase events and playing College friendlies. Has a proven development that has sent many players on to D1,D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO soccer programs.
Paco Lobato is a Spanish football coach with extensive experience in the world of football.
He served as the Sporting Director for the Liga Soccer Camps in Spain and for the Atlético Madrid Academy. Furthermore, he has organized football camps and sports academies and international tournaments across Spain, Mexico, and the United States.
He has served as our Sporting Director since the founding of our club, Atletico New Mexico, in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho.
Among his notable achievements, he stands out for having won the BBVA Championship trophy three times with Atlético Madrid—a highly prestigious international tournament that brings together the top teams from leagues around the globe.
Paco has also worked with young talent, selecting players to travel to Spain and train with professional teams. His experience and expertise have established him as a leading figure in the football world, and we are fortunate to have him among us, as his training methodology is currently being applied to all our players—yielding excellent developmental results.
